Every Second Employee Would Not Recommend Their Company

The Employee Barometer reveals an important trend. Every second employee would not recommend their company to others, and many employers are completely unaware of it. Without regular feedback, companies often overlook what their people truly need and how they perceive the company culture.

eNPS and Verso HR Tools

Some slightly alarming findings come from the Employee Barometer conducted by Up Benefity among more than 1,000 employees from Czech companies. The survey focused on employee satisfaction with their employers.

The Popular eNPS Metric Did Not Bring Positive Results

The eNPS (“Employee Net Promoter Score”) metric tracks employee loyalty and shows to what extent employees would recommend working at their company. The resulting score reached a negative value of -35, revealing that dissatisfied employees significantly outnumber satisfied ones. Most of them (52%) would discourage others from working for their employer, 31% remain neutral, and only 17% would confidently recommend their workplace.

However, companies should not ignore these negative results. Recommendations can play a key role in recruitment and significantly influence job candidates.

Additional data reveals reasons behind employee dissatisfaction, which are also caused by the illusion many employers live in. Half of companies believe employee satisfaction in their organization is good and think they would receive grades 1 or 2. In reality, employees are much more critical, giving grades 4 and 5 in one fifth of cases.

The source of this distortion is often a lack of information. In fact, 36% of employees claim their company does not collect employee opinions at all or even avoids doing so. At the same time, 95% of workers consider feedback important, and 80% would gladly participate in employee satisfaction surveys.

Companies often neglect this because of complexity or missing HR tools. But that is no longer the case today. Verso packages offer quick online polls as well as regular employee satisfaction measurement.

Employee Feedback Is the Key and Helps on Every Front

Real data helps build a healthy company culture, improve eNPS, monitor trends, detect issues in their early stages, and uncover threats such as “Quiet Quitting” (when an employee stays but only does the bare minimum) or “Quiet Cracking” (when one resignation triggers a chain reaction of further departures).

Replacing a single expert can cost up to 150% of their annual salary, and in 2026 companies can no longer afford to manage people based on assumptions. Those who fail to measure satisfaction and collect data will lose their best people without even knowing why.
