Up Česká republika, a specialist in employee care, is launching a new Carpooling service within its Můj Up motivational platform, as part of the Verso package. The service allows colleagues to share rides to and from work, helping employees save on transport costs while also strengthening workplace relationships. At the same time, it represents another step in supporting sustainable behavior among companies, organizations, and their employees.
Up Česká republika, a long-term advocate of ESG (environmental, social, governance) principles, is extending the same opportunities to its employer partners and their employees. “Especially today, younger generations are looking for employers who share their values, such as acting sustainably and responsibly,” explains Petra Prchlíková, Sales Director at Up Česká republika.
The Můj Up platform therefore includes modules that actively support ESG activities. After the Marketplace module, launched in 2021 to enable colleagues to buy and sell second-hand items, the new Carpooling feature motivates employees toward sustainable and eco-friendly behavior. In addition, in May the company introduced the first virtual multi-benefits card on the Czech market, helping to save tons of plastic.
“Launching the Carpooling service makes a lot of sense today. At a time when European economies are committing to more sustainable behavior, and when city traffic is becoming unbearable during rush hours—or people are commuting longer distances to work—car sharing is both a logical and desirable solution,” says Prchlíková.
Carpooling: comfort on the road, better atmosphere at work
Carpooling brings more than just practical and ecological benefits. It also strengthens workplace communication and relationships. By sharing rides, colleagues get to know each other better and deepen their connections. Health benefits are another bonus: psychological support from colleagues in stressful traffic helps drivers stay focused and calm, while the possibility of rotating drivers reduces fatigue. All of these factors contribute to a better workplace atmosphere.
“Today, colleagues often don’t have enough time to connect personally. Workplace relationships cool down, which can negatively impact employees’ sense of belonging, motivation, and engagement. Carpooling, where colleagues find time for informal communication and bonding, can elegantly help HR managers in this regard,” adds Prchlíková.
Responsibility as a game
Both drivers and passengers earn badges for using the feature in the Můj Up app. Employees can thus demonstrate their commitment to protecting the environment while also competing playfully with colleagues for the highest number of badges. “Gamification is a popular way to support company culture through play—it engages employees and boosts enthusiasm. And building a healthy company culture is a long-term goal of our employee care,” says Prchlíková. She adds that other popular modules designed to strengthen relationships include Praise, allowing colleagues to recognize each other for good work, and Invite a colleague for lunch.
Communication not only with colleagues, but also with the employer
Beyond peer-to-peer communication, Můj Up also offers modules for direct interaction with employers and HR managers. The Employee Satisfaction Measurement tool gives HR a revolutionary way to understand employee needs quickly and affordably, while the Poll module gathers instant feedback on specific issues. With the Ask Your Employer module, employees can even raise anonymous questions directly with management.
“Smart digital tools for building a healthy company culture are becoming increasingly popular thanks to their simplicity, speed, and above all their positive impact—not only among employers but also employees themselves. It’s no longer just about benefit management, but about a sophisticated tool reaching into key HR challenges of today. What is now clear is that adopting digital technologies is essential for any company that wants to grow and prosper in the long term,” concludes Petra Prchlíková of Up Česká republika.
